Using your iPhone or iTouch in my opinion is the best way to manage your comments for your Wordpress blog. I have tried many different methods over the years, from emails with the approve link inside to an Adobe Air app that notifies you of a new comment to your desktop. And then there was of course the old school way of just logging into your Admin panel and approving the comments through it. I always thought that someone had to create a more efficient way of doing this. Particularly for those of us who run more than 1 Wordpress blog.

The Official Wordpress App For the iPhone/iTouch

I personally do not have an iPhone, because I am still stuck in a contract with Verizon. But I do have a 32G iTouch. And I must say that I am absolutely loving the free Wordpress App the guys at Automatic have put together. You can get an idea of what the Wordpress app looks like with the screenshot below:

But the main highlight I want to bring to your attention is the ability this App gives you to manage the discussions taking place on your blog(s). The biggest problem I have had over the years with comments, is that I hardly every approved them in a timely manner, let alone respond to them.

When a reader of your blog leaves a comment, it’s important that you approve that comment and get it posted on your blog as soon as possible. I also personally think that it’s important to respond to your reader, joining in on the conversation with them whether it be to answer a question they have or to just simply say “thanks” for their kind compliments.

The Wordpress App for the iPhone essentially solves this problem. With it you can very easily approve and respond to comments, and of course because it’s on your phone you are able to do it from just about anywhere. This essentially creates 3 new elements to your Wordpress blog:
