If you like what Dreamweaver or FrontPage has to offer there are some good open source alternatives that do the job just as well and are free.

NVU – A complete Web Authoring System for Linux desktop users as well as Microsoft Windows and Macintosh users to rival programs like FrontPage and Dreamweaver. Nvu (stands for “new view”)

KompZer – KompoZer is a complete web authoring system that combines web file management and easy-to-use WYSIWYG web page editing. KompoZer is designed to be extremely easy to use, making it ideal for non-technical computer users who want to create an attractive, professional-looking web site without needing to know HTML or web coding. Very similar to NVU.

I hope that you find these two programs helpful. The next time somebody mentions Dreamweaver, or is thinking about purchasing Dreamweaver tell them to just download and use one of these programs. It’s free and completely open source. A much better route than being held to using Dreamweaver and a proprietary license!
