I have recently come across OpenBlueLab, an open osurce enterprise resource planner (ERP). I was wondering if anyone has had experience using it? This is the first time I have seen it and have yet to installed it on my server. It appears to be quite the complex system and could handle well for many businesses. You can find their site by going to www.openbluelab.org. Here is what they say about their product…

“Open Blue Lab aims at providing a complete ERP full web portal, open source, based on UML models. Generated through the MDA approach, a Cocoon Reference Implementation is currently available. Others implementations like JSF, Php, Ajax, .Net will be developped according wishes and votes expressed on the mailing lists. “

Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks. www.openbluelab.org

I have recently come across through our wonderful friends at freshmeat.net, a cool business application framework from Achievo called Achievo ATK. Some of you readers may have heard of this already but I have not. I am very eager to use it and let all of you know how it works for me. It’s a framework built entirely around constructing Business Applications only. This means building from scratch applications like CRM’s (customer relationship managers) or ERP (enterprise resource planners).

If Achievo ATK really does what it claims it can do, this could be huge! The reason being that every business has a need for it’s own custom CRM and/or ERP. Despite all the people who claim to have the “one size fits all” CRM or ERP, businesses will still have a need for their own custom one. And Achievo ATK may be the tool that actually makes that process easier for us developers. Check it out by clicking here to view the Achievo ATK website. Comment back and let me know what you think.
