I wanted to put together a quick poll to find out from everybody which CMS you are more interested in me featuring more posts on. Is it Wordpress? Is it Drupal? How about Joomla? Or maybe you would like me to feature more posts on some of the up and coming content management systems such as Serendipity. Take just a quick second and vote on this poll so that I can have a better idea of what type of articles will most help you guys! Thanks.

You’ve heard me mention before the Forumbuilder Module for Drupal called Webform. Basically if you are looking to build custom PHP forms on your Drupal site than the Webform module is by far the best choice. You can very easily and quickly create tons of new forms and manage who those forms are sent to. Recently a client and friend of mine John Hut of Aquaveo asked me what the possibilities were for an Auto Response email to be sent once someone filled out a Drupal webform. Webform Auto Responder ModuleWith some Google searching and some “Elbow Grease” I found the Webform Auto Responder Module for Drupal made by budda. Much thanks to Budda for taking the time to put this together. When you add in this module to your Webform module, you can now create an auto response email for people when they fill out one of your Drupal Webforms! When you are creating a new webform or editing an existing one, the new auto response option appears 2 fields: All you have to do is put in your subject line, and then the body of the email you want sent. And whallaaa, you just created an auto responder!!! Never been easier. For installation, remember to copy the entire module folder into your /modules directory. It basically acts as it’s own module independent of the Webform module. Hopefully soon the two will just be integrated so you won’t have to install the both of them.

Most Notable Websites Powered by Drupal - Part 3Posted by: admin in CMS, Web Design, Web DevelopmentBringing you another set of 7 mainstream/notable websites that are powered by the Drupal open source content management system! Let this give you confidence in Drupal for your own website. If these people trust the Drupal CMS for their mainstream websites than surely the rest of us can trust it for our own websites. Here’s the list: 1. Spread Thunderbird - the popular Mozilla Thunderbird email application. Very similar to the Spreadfirefox.com site that is using Drupal as well. 2. The Onion - a massive news site covering everything from Politics to Sports. One of the more popular and well established online news sites on the web. 3. MTV in the UK - for it’s United Kingdom website cable television giant MTV is utilizing Drupal for it’s many community online features. 4. AOL Corporate Site - for it’s corporate community site web giant AOL is utilizing the Drupal content management system.
5. Sun Learning Site - Sun Microsystems is using Drupal for it’s online learning center. If an open source giant like Sun is uing Drupal, it must have something to it that many people are not realizing!
6. Universal Music - this is a big one. Alot of flash and high res graphics make up this site. But behind the scnenes it’s Drupal making all the functionality happen. 7. FedEx News - for it’s corporate news and information site, FedEdx is using Drupal to power it’s online presence. The site has a very clean look and feel but is using some pretty high end Drupal functionality. In developing an affiliate marketing website with Drupal recently, I was in need of an Advertisement module where I could control advertisement in different sections of the site, randomly display with multiple ads, and to view statistics on impressions and clicks as well as a few other things. I found the module I was looking for called simply the Advertisement Module for Drupal. The ad module is a powerful advertising system for Drupal-powered websites. It supports the random display and tracking of graphical (banner) and text ads. Ads can easily be displayed in themes, blocks, or embedded in site content. The module records comprehensive statistics about when and how often ads are viewed and clicked, including a plug-in module for generating graphical time-based reports. Ads can be assigned to multiple owners, each of which can be assigned their own set of permissions. Installation is simple by design. An API is provided allowing the development of additional Features Include:
I highly recommend using this module if you are planning on serving many graphical and text ads on your site. It’s way too easy to install and configure and use. Just make sure to read all documentation when you run into any snags and you should be just fine! There is currently a working version of this Module for Drupal versions 4 and 5, but not yet for version 6. If you are looking for a quick and easy module to embed videos from social video sites such as YouTube, Google Video, Vimeo etc. Then look no further than the Video Filter Module for Drupal. This is a highly flexible and easy extendable filter module to embed any type of video in your site using a simple tag. Included codecs for the module currently include:
The module also includes some well written documentation for adding more codecs to the module if you need to. Features include:
Usage:I have recently set this up in a new Drupal site that I am managing and it is working perfectly for me in Drupal version 5! I have experienced no errors at all and i’m loving how easy it is! I’m building two new sites for myself in Drupal and so I spent some time today searching through the different theme contributions on drupal.org to find some new themes for my sites. I settled on these two themes that I have never seen before, and that I reallly really like. They are both very simple Drupal themes yet they have everything I need for my drupal site, including a nice dropdown menu for child pages! Pretty cool! Here are the two themes…both are free of course! The Wabi Drupal ThemeKey Features
