It’s not hard at all to find hundreds of different choices for nice and well functioned Wordpress themes. But what about Drupal themes? Better yet, what about Drupal 6 themes? Well my friends there are just not as many! All you bloggers out there! I have a traffic tip for you. Want to increase your traffic? Then invest the time or invest in someone elses time with the expertise to put together an open source Drupal 6 Theme. You will have thousands of new visitors to your blog each day. There is just a serious demand for open source Drupal 6 themes and more people need to get in the mix. I am currently working on one myself right now.

I’m using the Drupal 6 Themes Manual from Packt Publishing. I’m using it to help guide me in the right direction to make sure I do the theme right so that it becomes helpful to those who download it and use it! The manual has been extremely helpful and I highly recommend it to all of you who intend on working on creating a new or modifying an existing Drupal theme.

Chapter 6 – Modifying an Existing Theme

This is perhaps the most important chapter in my opinion. A lot of work can be done on many of the existing open source themes that are out there! This chapter helps cover the anatomy of a Drupal theme and helps you recognize the various Drupal functions that are being used. This will save you countless hours in trying to figure it out on your own! Trust me on that one!
