Blogging is no simple business. Well, let me rephrase that. Successful blogging is no simple business. Blogging successfully takes quite a bit of time and effort. Many people enter the blogosphere thinking that creating a successful and profitable blog takes a little bit of knowhow and a knack for writing. Of course, these two traits are no doubt endlessly important in blogging, but they are not the endpoint. Truly successful blogging takes an ability to write and produce regularly, strong web design, marketing incentives, and a significant amount of patience. However, even the strongest and most successful of blogs get tired and bogged down at times. Regular revamping is a necessary element of blogging. Not only does a revamp help you become re-inspired by your work, it can also help you drive more traffic to your site. The fact is, if you are bored with your own blog, your followers [...]

5 Reasons Bing Needs To Succeed

With more Google Panda updates coming out lately and seeing some of the data that is resulting from it  from other SEO’s, it really had me thinking more and more about Bing. We (the people) need Bing to succeed! We need Bing to compete with Google when it comes to Search and take up more and more of search market share. Here are my 5 reasons why: Reason #1. Google is overly promoting it’s own properties & content pushing out brands that are in competition with them. Reason #2. Google has no real incentive to drastically improve it’s algorithm a.k.a Batman needs a Joker to keep the story interesting. Reason #3. There’s a desperate need for 2 Search strategies i.e Trust & Authority vs. Social Emphasis. Aged/Linked content vs. More Up-To-Date content etc. Reason #4. To prevent future AntiTrust cases against Google a.k.a “the secret sauce is too good!” This [...]

Making Tons of $ or Changing The World?

Which Is More Important To You? I’ve presented this question to many of my friends and business colleagues recently out of pure curiosity. Mostly because there really is no right or wrong answer here. It’s not as black and white as it may seem. Let me give you an example. Mark Zuckerberg founder and CEO of Facebook.com and Matt Mullenweg founder and creator of the WordPress CMS. Both figures when it comes to the internet, are widely known and influential. Example #1: Mark Zuckerberg – Making Tons of $ Mark Zuckerberg has created an online empire with Facebook.com. The #1 Social site in the entire world has even at times surpassed Google in monthly usage. With more than 800 million active users and an estimated $4.27 Billion in revenue for 2011, Mark’s global reach and influence has clearly spanned the globe. Long story short… Mark has changed and arguably even [...]
