Open Source Multi Level Marketing (MLM) System

Business, Open Source 55 comments

Does anyone know of an open source or free multi level marketing (MLM) system? Even if it’s just a PHP script? It my research, this seems to be something that is currently missing in the open source world. That or I could be horrible at searching the web. Which is definitely a possibility!

I ask this because there are a ton of multi level marketing companies out there, and it seems that if there was an open source project were available that many could benefit from it. It seems that there would be a ton of money that could be contributed to the project because of the sheer size of the market. If you know of any answers to my question above than please leave your comment and share the info you know. It would be neat to contribute to such a project. Thanks!

I miss this system for starting our own MLM too. There is nothing to find.
@dennis I will be your first affiliate publisher in Germany ;)

  6. dennis on October 7, 2008:

I’M VERY CLOSE – IF I had a php programmer here, in St. Petersburg FL, with me I’d have it ready for anyone’s products – - I’d be all set…

The economy is bad enough however the attitude of programmers around here is the pits – they all want to hold their ability hostage…

they lose in the end – guess who is becoming a programmer ???

  7. alexandra on October 7, 2008:

so I can post it in or freelancer boards and forum, perhaps there is somebody who is bored..
so what do you think about the time it need to run? have you got ideas for the architecture?

  8. dennis on October 7, 2008:

I’ve modified another script – it is working quite well – after I worked on the code for a while – I haven’t had a chance to test the whole thing yet but I think I’m close…

I Don’t like working with freelancers – I’m a face to face kind of person – I do things the old fashion way – That’s how us old guys are yet…

  9. admin on October 7, 2008:

Dennis, are you going to be providing this script Open Source? If so, let me know when you have it together. I would be happy to feature it on the blog a couple times to get the project some notoriety!

    Dennis,

I’d love to take a look at what you’ve got so far! I think Alex and I are “in the same boat.”

  18. CHAZ on April 6, 2009:

    Anyone see Dennis’ project?

  19. Steve Maz on April 10, 2009:

We exchanged a few w-mails – but I never did get to see what he had so far.
I ran out of time and had to spend the $$ – glad I did, in the end.
It’s a very robust system and the guy and his team behind it have been doing MLM coding for years and have many clients. So, they sort of know what you need before you do. Best of all, if you want a feature, you just turn it on. Everything I’ve needed so far has been a “flip of the switch.”

  20. Dennis on April 10, 2009:

    Hello All!

I have been very busy working with an excellent programmer recently and I can say we are almost ready to test out MLM system…

It will launch as a small investors social network of sorts. with a forced 2X3 expanding matrix… Something that will provide a replacement to Social Security (a good back up if the SS system fails) The program we will present can best be described as a privatized retirement program.

There is a free and premium membership that will be available – the site will incorporate a networking for business to business, entrepreneur to entrepreneur, investor to investor, and etc…

With in the site, part of the premium members back office, will be the premium members own e-wallet… They will/can contribute into their e-wallet small amounts of money ready to become part of any new ventures they see coming available – The member can hold the weekly contributions in their own accounts at a bank if they wish – totally up to the member, as long as they can discipline themselves and put a small amount of money away every week – just like the government does when they take your SS contribution out of your pay check…

Also available on the site, and the main entity, is, what we call, the white pages section. Within this section members will become acquainted with new inventions, products, and services ready for production and needing finances to bring them to fruition – these white pages will explain the business plan of the inventor etc and provide an opportunity something like an IPO or initial public offering – call this an internal private offering, if you will.

Also within the site is a classifieds section – an auction and reverse auction – linked member websites (to help with their optimization) – online community pages – internal social networks for their networking need, – and whatever else we can link in…

The social network will grow exponentially through the use of the forced 2X3 expanding matrix (when the 2×3 is full, 14 people, another leg opens up, 7 more people, then another leg and etc….

An incentive is provided to all those premium members within an up-line from three levels deep… the matrix is filled automatically or from a premium members replicated website…

OK that is a small gimps of what the program is going to do – we can add any product to this existing program or we can customize the program to fit anyone’s needs. Unfortunately it will have to be proprietary… The time and effort I made to complete this program and the difficulty I had with programmers to participate in this project left me no alternative but to make it proprietary…

I wish the community of programmers could have been more cooperative; However it just didn’t work out that way…

I will become very happy to help out the community once I can get this project launched – thanks for all you all’s understanding…

When the program launches please help propagate the program for us so we can make sure we have all the bugs out – if you see financial rewards worth contributing as a premium member we encourage you to join us…

    Regards
    Dennis

I’d love to see also what we’ve got so far…

  29. Tom on August 4, 2009:

I googled a bit and found this blog about my own problem… I am starting a new MLM on a low-end product I am building, so I have to find solutions CHEAP. (You have to start somewhere!) ANy comments about how to would be great – tomwalkr at bellsouth.net. Thanks all!

  30. Steve Maz on August 6, 2009:

    Tom,

Low-end product and CHEAP implies that you may need something as simple as an Affiliate management system. I did a lot of research on those when I first got started. I’ve included the link to one of the best ones I could find here. We actually used it for another project I did and it was fantastic. They even use their own product to manage their affiliate program. Use it to pay straight commissions x levels deep.

  31. Steve Maz on August 6, 2009:

    Tom,

The website link never came up in my last post…. Try idev.stevemaziarz.com for a simple straight commission x level deep affiliate manager.

David, I’m doing an MLM Browser and Phone Game system and need some assistance. I’m a certified PayPal Developer but I’m going to work only on my project from now on. Check out http://www.plizzel.com and http://www.cloudancing.com Call anytime at 619-581-8666 Barry

  35. Lynn on August 20, 2009:

    David,

What type of MLM are you wanting to start, maybe I could be some assistance. I have build proprietary software for a couple of MLM a few years ago that are still going strong. I’m not a programmer, but I’m a designer and am the one that puts everything together and in place with my actual programmers.

  36. mike on August 28, 2009:

Lynn, I would be interested in seeing what you have to offer

  37. Lynn on August 28, 2009:

    David,

How do I get ahold of you.

  38. localtech4hire on September 26, 2009:

I as strange as it would be I plan on adding a Forced Matrix MultiLevel Affiliate option to one of my sites I made. I cloned a type of hotornot site but with a few more options onto it.. Just as most of you have noticed there are no “howto” or basic Affiliate/mlm to go off of as of the date of this posting.. I’m also seeing if I can clone one and/or make one also.. When I do I can post a sample of how it was made so others understand how they work..
