Tim Cadogan is the CEO of OpenX open source ad management tool project. The OpenX team put together this new video to explain the new features and advancements in their new version of OpenX 2.6. More Community Involvement

This version of OpenX according to Tim contains the highest amount of community involvement than any other release. More code and more discussion topics have been shared to help enhance this already great open source project.

OpenX API

The new version of OpenX contains the new API which gives you the ability to integrate your OpenX ad server with other business applications. Developers can write scripts to manipulate objects in the OpenX ad server. A good example of this would be to integrate your ad server with a CRM, so as soon as you make a sale the customers information is passed onto your ad server ready to setup the ads.

OpenX Dashboard

The new dashboard utilizes “Widgets” now to display to you the most important statistics and information to you. You can easily drag and drop widgets to ad or take away from your dashboard. In future releases you will be able to customize your own widgets which ads another level of customization.

Single Page Call Ad Tag

This is really cool. Basically, if you have an ad location on a website where you host multiple ads and they rotate, the new Single Page Call Ad Tag makes only one request to the Ad Server for showing multiple ads in one location. This improves website speed and reduces some major bandwidth between your website and your ad server.
