During a recent project for this blog, I needed a simple solution to putting HTML tables containing data inside blog posts that I was writing with WordPress. There was of course the option of handcoding each table with the needed columns and rows, but to do something like that everytime seemed not too time efficient. So I went searching around Google to see what was out there. That’s when I came across the WP Tables Reloaded Plugin.

The WP Tables Reloaded Plugin allows you to quickly and easily create and manage multiple HTML forms that are then easily placed within a blog post using a simple tag.

Now if you do understand HTML, which many of you probably do, you may still want to code your HTML tables by hand. But if you are like me, and don’t really have the time to do this, this plugin will be extremely helpful to you. If you don’t know HTML, well than this plugin is an neccessity!

What Does The User Interface Look Like?

As you can see with the screenshot below, the user interface in the WordPress Admin screen for this plugin easily allows you to build in data for your HTML form. Set how many columns and rows your table will need, then move onto filling in each cell with the data you need.

A Few Other Features This Plugin Has

A few other important functions come with this plugin that you should know about. 1) you have the ability to both import and export forms using this plugin. One thing that’s cool that you can do is build a CSV file using Excel or OpenOffice Calc, then you can import all of that data into a good looking HTML Table that you can show in your blog post!

Second, the plugin comes with sorting functionality on the user end using the Jquery Table Sorter plugin. This way, you can display a HTML table in a blog post and have your readers sort the information within each column, much like you would using Excel or Calc. This is not a feature that everyone will use, but in some cases you might find this helpful!

I must say that every once in awhile you come across a plugin for WordPress that is so helpful, it changes how you blog for the better. I must say that this plugin is one of those! A very helpful and thoughtful plugin.
