Most Notable Websites Powered by Drupal – Part 1

WordPress & Joomla may have the big names, and may have more general popularity among most end users. But it appears that Drupal is being used amongst the biggest players on the web! And although WordPress & Joomla have many exciting features and functionality in their own right, Drupal has gained the confidence from some of the web’s most premiere websites to run it’s applications online! That’s a pretty big deal! This post is part 1 of a series of posts where I will be featuring who some of these people are that are using Drupal to power their websites. Today we name 5! Check out my page on Premium Drupal Themes to see how you can make your Drupal site look and function like many of these popular sites with minimal effort.

1. Linux Journal

The popular linux news and information site is completely powered by the Drupal CMS. I got listed on the homepage once from Linux Journal to this blog, and Igot so much traffic pushed my way that my server went down for a couple hours! Linux Journal dispells any myths about Drupals abilities to handle mass traffic!

2. The Open Source Initiative

Funny how the Open Source Initiative themselves chose to use Drupal to power their website over any other cms framework or platform. They must know something that many end users still don’t understand!

3. Ubuntu

One of the great examples of Drupal with a smooth design and content organization. An overall solid Drupal site!

4. SourceForge

Yet another web tech giant using the Drupal cms. We are starting to see a pattern here. These big tech website communities are turning to Drupal and not anything else. Very interesting!

5. SpreadFirefox.com

This one is not a huge shocker! The Spread Firefox people usually know what they are doing and makes sense for them to use Drupal with the mass amounts of content and community features that their website requires. Another great example to follow when building your next Drupal website.

Oh There’s More!
