So maybe you just need to brush up on your SEO knowledge. Or maybe you’re learning SEO for the first time. Either way … I wanted to create a quick 7 day program that will help do either one. Each day has reading material and a task for you to perform before you move on to the next day.

Day 1: The Beginner’s Guide to SEO from SEOMoz

This guide from SEOmoz has been read by over 1 million people who are looking to either a) learn SEO or b) brush up on their SEO skills. This free guide covers the basics of how Search Engines like Google work and how to make your site search engine friendly.

Day 2: Search Engine Ranking Factors from SEOMoz

Every couple of years SEOmoz performs a survey with top SEO professionals from around the world to find out directly from those “in the trenches” what factors in SEO influence rankings the most. Each participant was asked to rate more than 100 search engine ranking factors on their importance in SEO. This report is the final results from the last survey.

This resource will guide you through the technical specifics behind creating an effective link building strategy.

Day 5: How To Create Compelling Content That Ranks Well

Day 4 you learned how to build links, but now it’s time to make sure you have some content that’s worth linking to.

Day 6: Advanced Keyword Research from CopyBlogger

In this 5-part guide from Brian Clark of CopyBlogger, you learn how to do keyword research from not just an SEO perspective but from a Copywriters perspective. Helping you find niches of opportunity in any vertical/industry that you are in.

Your Task: Create a list of 10 articles that you can write based off your keyword research that CopyBloggers guides you through.

Day 7: Advanced Link Building Strategies

This guide from SEOMoz breaks down the more advanced link-building techniques that Master SEO’s use to increase traffic, rankings, and influence. These are not strategies you want to quickly scan through. Read through each one in detail. If you do one of these wrong it could have a negative impact on your site’s rankings.
