Magento: Open Source eCommerce Evolved

Open source project and ecommerce system Magento is finally in a production state. The new shopping cart project had been in Beta for quite some time but it is now ready for production and use by the public. This is old news to some. I have just not had time lately to let everyone here know. But I have set it up and it is working fantastic for me. I have played with it a little and tested some of the promised features and I have not seen any real downfalls. The administration interface alone makes me want to use it over Zen Cart!!!
Let’s hope that this open source project does not turn evil (proprietary)! It looks like we are finally getting a well packaged open source ecommerce system and I hope it stays that way. Check out magento at www.magentocommerce.com and download and install the system today. Let me know if you have any questions on installing it!

It’s great to hear other bloggers discussing Magento.
Varien seems very committed to the Magento Project. Their community outreach has been incredible. My “spidey-sense” tells me not too worry about Magento “turning evil”.

Magenta seems to be coming on strong as a possible player. We wil be watching them closely.
