Video classifieds is a medium in its infancy, over time people get more comfortable being in front of the camera and selling, promoting or meeting people. At iMoondo we are trying to be useful to the community - and we target Boston (our homebase), San Francisco and NYC. We are trying to get a critical mass of videos to show the world what is this all about. Most of our videos were shot by iMoondo videographers, guys and gals doing it because they believe in the idea. They were walking the streets rain or shine, talking up the small business owners, artists and cool characters and personalities in general. Without iMoondos help, these people would not have the technology or expertise to do this on their own. Since our release in May, we got uploads from Denver, Houston and Seattle. It does seem pretty obvious that iMoondo is based out of Boston. Jeeze, if they really did film all that, kudos to them for trying so hard to show people ways of filming this stuff. RPRS is pretty cool too. Easy to use and everything. But I get this feeling that most of their videos are pretty commercial, like I may have seen some of them on a 3 a.m. tv spot next to the Ginsu Knives. iMoondo and RealPeopleRealStuff both seem pretty cool - one of these guys will definitely take the lead in video classifieds. And they have an even more interesting twist--they PAY you to list your ads. It's a fun website, and one thing that's nice is, you don't have to include video, but you can. I like having the option (I like looking at the videos but haven't mastered putting one out there yet). I do think it's a great new way to view your products, especially with video you can prove your item actually works.
