The potential pitfall I see is if somehow the average end user gets this confused with the information they're looking for. As long as Google continues to say "Latest News" and make people very aware of that. Personally I don't care about visually seeing the tweets but having it run in the back end to help rate relevance/importance is something I'm liking. I did a little test based on this post and things worked pretty well for me. My test appeared in Google pretty much right away.
