Are you looking to setup your own Affiliate Program for something that you are selling online? Well if you are willing to use the new and slick Magento open source shopping cart, there is a free and open source solution for you for creating your own affiliate program. It’s a component for Magento called Affiliates For All and it’s completely free and open source.
Affiliates for All is highly configurable. You can set:
- a fixed commission rate or a percentage,
- the affiliate cookie lifetime,
- the currency, and
- whether commission is paid for the life of a customer or just for the first order.
Some other really cool features to take note of are:
- Affiliates for All will (optionally) email affiliates with details of new orders and approved commissions.
- Affiliates for All provides your affiliates with many reporting features. They can see graphs of orders and revenue over time. They can view and download lists of orders. If you want to, you can pass customer names and email addresses to the referring affiliates, allowing for further marketing efforts.
- Affiliates for All has a user interface similar to Google Mail. Just like Google Mail, this is achieved with AJAX, but you can use Affiliates for All without understanding the details.
This is a really cool open source application, similar to which you will not find anywhere! There just is not really any good open source affiliate applications out there. And this one appears that it could eventually stand head and shoulders above the rest. Check it out.

i am working with magento. Well my IT guys loaded it on our server…I started to load products, and configure the various needs…still having challenges with setting product categories to the home page, but otherwise magento is by far the king of shopping carts…
Now the only other thing I am looking besides changing my themes and templates is more importantly an affiliate program. iDevAffiliate seems to be leading my decision ways…but open source is my standard desire these days…the real reason I like iDevAffiliate at this point is for 2 reasons only. Multi Tiers (I need 2-5, but will take advantage of 10 eventually for kicks) and PayPal payouts.
Can Affilaites for all do Multi Tiers and paypal payouts? Or do you know if PayPal cna do affiliate payouts for us somehow? Thanks for you help…

hey chase,
just wondering if you would say working with Affiliates for All and Magento has been all you believe it was and is and can be? I need to have an affiliate program loaded to our magento cart in the next week or so and am leaning to Affiliates for All at this point.
If my IT guys have any problems would you be interested in plugging it in?
I have a team modifying my theme and customizing it and it is near ready, but will need a magento affiliate option plugged in as soon as possible once that is completed.
SO is Affiliates for All, all its cracked up to be?
Thanks for your informative posts.
Email me if you would like to discuss opportunities.
Patrick.
Are you guys getting the affilates for all to work with Magento? My IT guy is having a lot of trouble getting it working is there any help out there?
We tested the Affiliate for All system and really couldnt get it up running, so we developed our own Affiliate-system for Magento. It is written in Python by one of our developers and although its not ready to be distributed yet we have it up running in production on our store.
Check it out and let us know if there are any features we shall add, and maybe we even one day decide to release it

Hi Guys… Anyone interested in integrating the IDev Affiliate Application into Magento? We can help. We’ve installed the code on a wide rang eof Magento sites from ultra simple to complex. We can even get it to work with Idev 6 and multiple shipping addresses.

Thanks for this post, I am starting a shop at the moment, when I searched for open source or paid for ecommerce scripts before Magento was my favourite above all but unfortunately at the time they had no plugins for an affiliate program and affiliatesforall hadn’t yet updated for Magento. Now that they have I think this has given me the final push to starting a shop with Magento.
Great post, thanks
Chris
Roy I am a member of your silverthemes affiliate program. I like the system but it gave me a page full of error codes when I joined… It seems to work ok when I log in. Are you going to make this publicly available?
IDev Affiliate application sounds good too! I will report back here, when I have some updates on what works for my projects.
