A Free Favicon.ico Generator

Web Design, Web Tools 2 comments

I recently “stumbledupon” a cool little tool called the Favicon.ico generator. In case you don’t know, a Favicon is that little image in your address bar when you visit a website. It’s very important that your website has one of these because it shows how custom your website is. Any web 2.0 designer will express to you the importance of having a custom favicon for your website. I was tired of having to wait on my designer to create one for me all the time. So this tool is perfect. You just upload your image and convert! Bam! You now have yourself a Favicon.

a favicon is a bitmap image. You can use windows paint to create a bitmap and rename it to favicon.ico

Cool little tool. I knew this existed, but I didn’t know it had a name. What I am wondering is: why does the favicon generator website not have it’s own favicon? seems a bit ironic.
