3 New Plugins I Installed For This Blog

Blogging, CMS 3 comments

I have installed 3 new plugins for this blog thanks to a comment from Susan – Shanghai Tech Writer. She wrote a comment to my last article about Wordpress Plugins that I recommend and left a link to her blog article with some that she likes. I took 3 plugins from her list that I am already “diggin”.

  1. Firestats – a cool plugin that gives you all sorts of traffic web analytics for your blog. The stats show up right there on your dashboard. Instead of waiting until the end of the day for your Google Analytics reports to come through, you can get the analytics log live for your blog with this plugin.
  2. Subscribe to Comments – this plugin allows your readers to subscribe to a blog articles comment thread. It’s mind boggling why this is not a feature by default in Wordpress already. Almost a necessity for any type of reader interaction!
  3. Related Posts – this cool plugin will display related blog posts for any given post. It pulls the posts based on related “tags”. I use it to display my most commented articles on the bottom of each blog post.

Glad you found some useful plugins! I’ve discovered more recently that I’ve installed but haven’t had a chance to write about them yet. You could search for them and try them out — OneClick (auto-install templates & plugins directly from Dashboard), CommentLuv (includes the commenter’s last blog post), WP-Poll, and Custom Query String.

Nice post, you have just reminded me about how important design principles are.

Finally something new for me to learn and I am already subscribed. You can contact me if you need to. :D
